… Iz kruga – Vojvodina hosting a Moldavian delegation study visit

On 7 November, …IZ KRUGA – VOJVODINA hosted the sixteen-member Moldavian national Life Without Violence Coalition delegation. The delegation members were representatives of state institutions, including the Ministry of Police, Ministry of Justice and Healthcare, Labor and Welfare Ministry, as well as non-governmental organizations.
Supported by the UN Women office, the delegation members are on a five-day study visit to Serbia. Until 9 November, the delegation and its various Serbian hosts will share experience concerning applying a multidisciplinary approach to preventing and combating violence against women.
During the meeting at the …IZ KRUGA – VOJVODINA office, Ivana Zelić, the Coordinator of its SOS Service, presented the work of the organization and its experience concerning prevention and protection of women with disabilities from violence, with a special focus on the particularities of operating the helpline service, as well as cooperation with state institutions. Danica Todorov, the Coordinator of the Sexual Violence Victims’ Center Pilot Model Expert Team, presented the work of these centers in Vojvodina, including both experiences of good practice and challenges faced along the way.
Serbia is one of the states in the region that is an example of good practice in the field of protecting women from violence. It is most obvious in relevant protocol adoption in various sectors, legislation amendments and a multi-sector approach to individual cases of violence against women. During its visit, the Moldavian delegation will have an opportunity to meet with all relevant Serbian actors in the field of protecting women from violence, including civil society organizations involved in providing support to women experiencing gender-based violence.
